What We Do

Somerset Foundries produces high quality gray iron castings from just a few
ounces up to 18,000 pounds using Green Sand and No Bake molding. We also produce ductile iron castings, Ni-Hard castings and Ni-Resist castings ranging
from 1 to 1,800 pounds.

Somerset’s Green Sand molding process offers a fast, economical way to produce high quality castings, enabling Somerset to meet its customers’ demand-driven delivery schedules. Green Sand casting is the most commonly employed method
for casting high quality iron components.

Somerset’s No Bake molding produces high quality castings when greater dimensional control and a smoother surface are required. Somerset Foundries’ No Bake process is cost effective due to its two mechanical reclaiming systems, two
600 lb/min. mixers and its 100 lb/min. mixer for smaller cores.

• Squeezers, Pin Lift, Loose Pattern, Floor, Cope and Drag Machines
• (1) BMM molding machine capable of producing a high volume of molds per day with flask dimensions
  up to 42”sq. or 32” x 60”
• (2) 600 lb/min. and (1) 100lb/min Castec No Bake Mixers
• Flask Sizes: 12” x 12” through 144” x 144” and larger, if required

Finishing:

• Internal shot blasting
• Grinding and light machining
• Painting and coating
• Heat treating available
